Jurlique will celebrate National Tree Planting Day in true Australian spirit – with some hard yakka and a sausage sizzle!

Jurlique’s Tree Planting Day 2013 will see the brands 155-acre herb farm in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia, become home to 1000 new endemic native trees, planted by staff and supporters as part of the brand’s commitment to reducing CO2 emissions and its bid to promote environmental positivity and awareness.

“At Jurlique we aim to increase biodiversity and repair damage from deforestation that occurred on our property over 100 years ago, when this area was first opened up to European style farming (where trees were removed to plant grass for cows and sheep to feed on). Today we have approximately 10,000 native trees that are local and endemic to South Australia and have been planted by Jurlique to increase biodiversity and natural habitat for all forms of native life on the farm,” explains Marc Intervera, Jurlique Horticultural Specialist.

“This initiative is very much in line with everything Jurlique stands for – biodynamic farming, natural ingredients, re-vegetation, a conscious effort to reduce environmental impact, sustainable packaging, and a positive influence on our customer base,’ says Anna Mayakova, Jurlique Marketing Director Australia.

Recently, the Jurlique biodynamic farm in Adelaide Hills, which grows and harvests more than 90% of all the natural herb ingredients that go to producing the range for local and international markets, was opened to the public. Farm tours can now be booked at so lovers of Jurlique, tourists, and green thumbs can come and experience the magic that happens behind the scenes and learn more about the 30 plus varieties of organic and biodynamic herbs, flowers and plants grown on the farm and used to create Jurlique’s pure, powerful natural skincare range.

Jurlique’s Farm Tours offer a unique opportunity to learn about the nature and science behind this much-loved Australian brand, as well as discovering the benefits of organic and biodynamic farming on both the environment and the health of your skin.
