“2018 Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival — Mid-Autumn Festival Session” will be launched at Pingxi Junior High School on September 24th, and the theme is based on “Poetic Sentiment — Admiring the Moon at Pingxi” with the natural landscapes and magnificent moon scenery. This year, it collaborates with the calligraphy artist Wen-Ning Huang for the first time, whereby she will paint lively ink painting illustrations and writings on the 12″ thematic lantern, demonstrating conservative yet creative Chinese beauty on the 12″ thematic lantern.

“Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival” has already become one of the representations for Taiwan’s significant tourism images, and has been favored by international media repeatedly, like Discovery, CNN, Fodor’s and The Huffington Post, and this year, it was once again given the honor as the “Cultural Event Most Worthy of Recommendations on TripAdvisor, as well as recommended by Reader’s Digest as one of the “40 Travel Adventures You Need to Have Before You’re 40”. Director Kuo-Chun Chen of the Tourism and Travel Department, New Taipei City Government indicated: “The number of tourists visiting Pingxi region during last year reached 6.87 million. It is the honor for Taiwan!” Therefore, the Tourism and Travel Department, New Taipei City Government planned a series of event, which is highly worth to visit.
