13th Infofish World Tuna Trade Conference And Exhibition At Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok

Photo 1 - 13th INFOFISH at Shangri-LaHotel,Bangkok 1The 13th INFOFISH World Tuna Trade Conference and Exhibition is confident in Thailand and organised a three-day gathering of major tuna industry players from all over the world at Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok from 21-23 May 2014.

Jointly organised by the Department of Fisheries and INFOFISH, the 13th INFOFISH World Tuna Trade Conference and Exhibition, attended by more than 500 global participants, took place at the hotel’s Grand Ballroom. The objective of the conference was for tuna industry players and stakeholders to get together and discuss matters of common interests. The conference also created opportunities for business networking and other Photo 2 - 13th INFIFISH at Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok 2activities promoting sustainable fishery which is positive for the tuna industry overall. Mr. Niwat Sutemechaikul, Thailand’s Director-General of the Department of Fisheries, strike the Gong to mark the official opening of the event on 21 May 2014.  Participants from the major tuna producing nations joining the conference and exhibition included   Australia, USA, UK, Spain, Italy, the Netherland, New Zealand, Maldives, Papua New Guinea, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates and others.

On the following night, participants were invited to join the grand opening ceremony of the Thai Tuna Photo 4 - 13th INFOFISH at Shangri-La Hotel,Bankgok 4Industry Association, hosted by its President, Dr. Chanintr Chalisarapong.

Honourary guests at the 13th INFOFISH World Tuna Trade Conference and Exhibition included H.E. Mohamed Shainee, Honourable Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture from Maldives, H.E. Mao Zeming, Honourable Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture from Papua New Guinea, Dr. Abdul Basir Kunhimohamed, Director of INFOFISH from Malaysia, and Mr. Renator Curto, President and CEO of Tri Marine Group from USA.
