The resort is located just 90 minutes from Santiago at nearly 10,000 feet in altitude and is surrounded by one of the most spectacular mountain landscapes in the world. MOUNTAIN VILLAGE IN THE ANDES
Valle Nevado, a visionary leader in resort development in South America, launched a Master Development Project in 2010 with the goal of eventually creating a mountain village and expanding the resort’s offerings for its visitors.
Valle Nevado offers access to the largest skiable terrain in the southern hemisphere, the most modern lift system in Chile, and a range of hotels and condominiums. As well, this season the resort will offer a new service area for day visitors with 500 parking spaces, ticket booths, ski and snowboard rentals, restaurants, shops and general services. So that our guests enjoy their time on the mountain to the maximum, the resort continues to expand its lift and terrain offerings, open up more acreage each year, including 330 hectares for 2012.
In the area of property development, we continue to grow so that we may offer more first-rate installations and services for you and your family. Our Valle de Cóndores I and II buildings have been an outstanding success, and in 2012 the resort will open the new condominiums Valle Blanco and Cerro Pintor. NEWS FOR 2012
MOUNTAIN RESTAURANT - BAJO ZERO EXPANSION
Bajo Zero restaurant will be expanded to include more than 3,000 square feet of new outdoor dining area, so that more guests can enjoy lunch basking in the sun and take in stunning Andean views –
including non-skiers, who can now reach the restaurant via the new gondola.
NEW SERVICE AREA AT CURVE 17 FOR DAY VISITORS
Valle Nevado’s new Curve 17 service area makes getting on the slopes easier and faster for day skiers and snowboarders. The service area in 2012 will reach stage two of three stages to include 500 parking spaces, equipment rental, ticket sales, ski and snowboard school sign-up, lockers, a Valle Nevado store, and the restaurant Plaza de Gondola.
NEW APARTMENTS CERRO PINTOR AND VALLE BLANCO
Valle Nevado will complete construction of two new apartments, Cerro Pintor and Valle Blanco, and begin construction on apartments El Plomo and El Tupungato, which will open in 2013. With these new units Valle Nevado will have completed 6 new apartment buildings since 2009. The apartment area will also benefit from a new convenience store for renters and owners to buy a sundry of items.
NEW BEGINNER’S SKI AND SNOWBOARD AREA, PARK IMPROVEMENTS
The 2012 season will see the opening of two new beginner’s slopes, one for children and one for adults, with easily maneuverable cable tows to make learning easier. The new runs will expand the resort’s offer to 41 total runs. The learning area will also see a new “Casa Escuela” for kids that will allow parents to leave their children directly in the safe hands of our instructors. Valle Nevado will also expand and make improvements on the Terrain Park.
NEW EVENT SALON
Valle Nevado will open its new event salon, located above the Hotel Tres Puntas and measuring approximately 3,000 square feet. The salon will offer the latest technology for meetings and events, and sweeping views of the Andes Mountains.
WEEKLY WINE FEST WITH CASA MARIN
This season our guests in all three of our hotels will be treated to a weekly Thursday Wine Fest hosted by the prestigious Casa Marin winery of the San Antonio Valley. The Wine Fest gives guests a chance to understand how the winemaking process works, while enjoying live music and sampling a wide range of Chilean wine varieties. The event will be hosted in our new event salon located above the Tres Puntas Hotel. Wine sales will be available.
SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT CENTER
This 2012 season, Valle Nevado will open its gymnasium to hotel guests and apartment owners for an après-ski Sports & Entertainment Center. The Center will have pool tables, a skate ramp, climbing wall, ping pong tables, and trampoline, offering fun for kids, teens, and the whole family alike.
NEW RENTAL EQUIPMENT
This winter Valle Nevado welcomes the total overhaul of all our ski and snowboard equipment so that we may offer our guests a wide variety of gear suitable to all levels and kinds of terrain, including Fisher and Volkl.
TERRAIN PARK EXPANSION
Our Terrain Park is ready for all freestyle fanatics with the expansion of the park and the new inclusion of “Easy Park,” a section designed especially for beginners and intermediates new to freestyle skiing and snowboarding.
