2014 Departure Dates for Northern Fiji Discovery Cruises

Captain Cook Cruises has released the 2014 departure dates for its two seven nights Northern Fiji Discovery cruises – The Four Cultures Discovery Cruise and Colonial Fiji Discovery Cruise.

The Four Cultures Discovery Cruise, is the first ever Fiji cruise to circumnavigate Vanua Levu, Fiji’s second largest island and living up to its name, this cruise gives passengers the ultimate chance to discover and experience four distinctive Fijian cultures, Ellice Islanders (Polynesians), Banabans (Micronesia), Fijian and Indians and visits remote villages and schools. CCC Four Cultures Discovery Cruise

Passengers are taken on a cultural journey through an amazing show of song and dance by the Polynesian’s (Ellice Islanders) of Kioa Island and discover the home and history of the Banabans people on Rabi Island.

A colourful morning is be spent at Labasa Town, home to a large population of Fijian Indians and a town not regularly visited by many tourists. Passengers experience an Indian Cultural performance before shopping in the many stores along the main street and exploring the large market which sells a range of foods, spices, fish, poultry, goats and other local products.

Although culture is the main flavour of this cruise, the warm blue waters of the South Pacific haven’t been forgotten with unforgettable snorkelling, diving, glass bottom boating and swimming available on the itinerary everyday including the Great Sea Reef, the 3rd largest Barrier Reef in the World.

2014 departure dates for The Four Cultures Discovery Cruise include 07 January, 04 March, 06 May, 01July, 02 September and 04 November 2014.

The seven nights Colonial Fiji Discovery Cruise in Fiji is an amazing cruise that reveals the unique history, art and culture of the Northern Fiji Islands and allows passengers the ultimate experience of standing’ on the natural International Dateline.

Day trips include the historic Levuka on the island of Ovalau, the Bouma Waterfall lagoon on Taveuni Island, the extinct volcanic crater, hot springs and thriving markets on Savusavu, a special children’s choral church service at Waiyevo and of course the 180th Meridian – the arbitrary Dateline between today and tomorrow on Taveuni Island.

There is plenty of swimming, snorkelling and diving off picturesque islands including Tivua, Nanuyakoto, Savusavu Bay, Nananu-I-ra and Sali Sali Island.

2014 departure dates for the Colonial Fiji Discovery Cruise include 04 February, 01 April, 03 June, 05 August, 07 October and 02 December.

Early Booking Saver (EBS) fares start from just AUD$1960 per person twin share and the cruise departs Denarau Marina at 1.00pm.
