2016 Global Harbor Cities Forum Over 30 International Cities to Explore Transformation and Cooperation
The 2016 Global Harbor Cities Forum will be held in the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center from September 6th to 8th. As a platform for international cooperation between harbor cities, the Forum aims to foster industrial transformation and urban revitalization of harbor cities by connecting cities via economy, environment, and culture.
Themed “Transformation and Cooperation of Harbor Cities”, there will be 19 cities from 13 countries attending the 2016 meeting: Baltimore, Baton Rouge, and Honolulu of the U.S.A.; Panama City of the Republic of Panama; Vancouver of Canada; Auckland of New Zealand; Copenhagen of Denmark; Marseille of France; Brisbane and Sydney of Australia; Callao of Peru; Male of Maldives; Suwon and Busan of South Korea; Chiba Prefecture, Kobe, and Mie Prefecture of Japan; Penang of Malaysia; and Đà Nẵng of Vietnam. The three-day agenda will focus on the discussion of four topics: Industrial Transformation, Marine Tourism, Cooperation of Harbor Cities and Urban Planning, and Sustainable Development. The program will not only include keynote speeches, panel discussions, Mayers’ roundtable meetings, a welcome dinner, and Kaohsiung night but also a city visit which is designed to present fresh, innovative ideas that can help connect global harbor cities and facilitate further development and collaboration.
