208 Duecento Otto Marks Five Years In Hong Kong

image010Buzzy Italian bar and restaurant 208 Duecento Otto is celebrating half a decade of serving rustic Italian cuisine in Sheung Wan this June, and Chef Alan Marchetti has prepared an exquisite, authentic Tasting Menu to celebrate.

Available for the entire anniversary month, Chef Alan’s five-course menu (priced at HK$688) will take you right back to the motherland. The homemade meal will begin with a Shot di gelatina di pomodoro con mozzarella in spuma (tomato jelly shot with buffalo mozzarella foam) andTerrina di coniglio, pan brioches e marmellata si arance (rabbit terrine with Parma ham, pistachios and marmalade). Following the starters is a delectable pasta dish, Fagottini verdi ripieni di formaggio di capra con salsa di rape (pasta parcels with goat’s cheese and beetroot) followed by the main course, a Piccione ripieno di fegato grasso e spinaci in pasta sfoglia (“Pigeon Wellington” stuffed with foie gras and spinach). To round off the meal, Chef Alan has prepared a “delizioso” Pannacotta alla vaniglia con pesche alla lavanda e millefoglie (millefuille served with vanilla panna cotta and lavander peaches).

208 Duecento Otto’s June Tasting Menu will be available in addition to their much-loved a la carte menu, so Italian aficionados can still order favourite dishes such as the Prosciutto e Rucola pizza (mozzarella, cherry tomato, rocket, Parma ham, scamorza, HK$208), Pappardelle Wagyu Bolognese (pappardelle pasta, beef ragu, 24-month aged parmesan, HK$198), Tommo Pinna Gialla (seared yellow fin tuna, smoked potatoes, pancetta crumbs, HK$268) and Semifreddo di Burro (peanut butter parfait, chocolate macaroon, caramel sauce HK$88).
