4th Year In A Row As The Official Hotel For The SIME Darby LPGA 2014

The fifth edition of the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia ended with the crowning of a new champion, the 25 year old Ms Shanshan Feng of China who beat Thailand’s Pornanong Phatlum with four strokes behind on 12 October 2014 at the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club.

Feng achieved the USD1 million marks in earnings this year and for the third time in her career and currently the 8th different LPGA players to reach at least $1 million in 2014. The  tournaments were held from October 9 – 12, 2014 with 75 of the world’s best female golfers competed in the 72 hole no-cut event.

One World Hotel once again played host to the defending champion from USA, Lexi Thompson, Stacy Lewis, up and coming golfer Lydia Ko from New Zealand, Anna Nordqvist of Sweden, Natalie Gulbis from USA, French golfer, Karine Icher, Paula Creamer of USA, South Korea’s Mi Hyang Lee, Na Yeon Choi and Amy Yang are some of the top ranking international superstars.

The leading 63 players from the Official Money List and 6 sponsors’ invites contested for the total prize purse which has been increased to USD2 million this year. As one of the longest-running women’s professional sports associations in the world, Sime Darby as well as the event organisers will develop this annual event into one of the most prestigious ladies golf events in the Asia-Pacific region.
