We all need a break from time-to-time, so if you fancy jetting off to somewhere fun, fascinating and friendly, why not make your way to the USA? There’s plenty to see and do in this part of the world and if the delicious pancake breakfasts and supersized food portions don’t make you want to hop on the next plane, these five things might.

  1. Las Vegas and casinos

The thrill of a Las Vegas casino is truly something to behold. These days it is possible to play from the comfort of your own home but it’s well worth putting your skills to the test in Vegas – even if it’s just the once. The clink of money entering slot machines, the clack of chips being piled high and the whirling noise of roulette wheels is enough to make anyone’s heart beat faster, so it’s well-worth seeing what all the fuss is about for yourself. And if you’re not a gambling fan, fear not, as Vegas is also home to a wealth of other attractions including Madame Tussauds, Planet Hollywood, theatre shows, an observation wheel and much, much more.

  1. Walt Disney World in Florida

Whether you’ve got kids or not, don’t miss Walt Disney World Florida, one of the most-renowned entertainment complexes in the world. As well as exhilarating parks such as the Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios (all packed with educational activities and high-speed rides) you’ll also find an array of wonderful water parks including Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Disney’s Blizzard Beach. There’s something for all ages to enjoy here and with character breakfasts and parades making the experience truly unforgettable you’re sure to be captivated by the magic of this destination.

  1. Washington, DC

If sightseeing is more to your fancy, Washington, DC is the place to be. Home to the White House, as well as the Washington National Cathedral, the National Gallery of Art, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, the National Zoo, the Lincoln Memorial and many other tourist hotspots, Washington is a must-see. Before embarking on your adventure, however, it’s a good idea to write an itinerary of what you want to visit and on what day. That way you’ll have enough time to enjoy each location properly without rushing and won’t miss anything important.

  1. The Grand Canyon

Distinguished by its layered bands of stunning red rock, the Grand Canyon is one of the most impressive natural formations in the world, let alone the USA. Located in the state of Arizona, the Canyon is essentially a deep ravine carved out by the Colorado River which provides the perfect backdrop for a spot of trekking, horse riding, cycling and camping. One of the best ways to experience the true vastness of the Grand Canyon, however, – which averages ten miles across and a mile deep alongside its 277-mile length – is to take an aerial tour that you’ll never forget.

  1. New York City

Love shopping? Then New York City is the place to be with everything from Macys to Tiffany & Co lining the streets. Harlem Haberdashery is ideal for urban-meets-preppy attire and Kikkerland is the ideal place to pick up some of the world’s most unusual gadgets. When you’ve indulged all your shopping fantasies you can then do a spot of sightseeing at some of the world’s most iconic locations with the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building and Times Square just for starters.

America is full of many amazing sights and sounds and is the perfect place for both a road trip or a comfortable family location in one of the top hotels.
