Les Femmes Chefs d’Entreprises Mondiales (FCEM), founded in France 69 years ago and now with members covering five continents, held their 62nd World Congress in Taipei from September 22-24.

Given Taiwan is located in the geographic central of the Asia-Pacific region, and the foundation of and outstanding achievements of Taiwan entrepreneurs in China, Japan, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia, the theme for this year’s World Congress was “Taiwan – Gateway to Asia”.

The 62nd FCEM World Congress was organized by the Taiwanese Women’s Entrepreneurs Association (TWEA). Representatives from 28 member states followed FCEM cultural tradition and formal ceremony in the form of a flag parade on September 24. FCEM World President Laura Frati Gucci, Taiwan President Ma, and 62nd World Congress Chairwoman Cecilia Y. Koo attended the ceremony to welcome and greet participants.

TWEA President May Lu expressed that the TWEA aims to encourage and lead Taiwan women and entrepreneurs to become more visible, in turn helping to make Taiwan more visible to the world. The three-day program included a keynote speech from Taiwan Financial Holdings Chairperson Dr. Jih-Chu Lee on the topic of Asian Finance and Economy, a cross-fields seminar on “the new women power – economic power, social power, and impacts”, along with business visits to enterprises of various fields representing Taiwan gourmet, cultural and creative business, and aesthetic medicine. The 62nd World Congress attracts women entrepreneurs both from home and abroad with its comprehensive program covering not only networking sessions with international women entrepreneurs and managers, encouraging speeches and seminars, but also exciting interactive programs. FCEM sister entrepreneurs had first-hand access to information and opportunities to expand their business in Asia, and the Congress promoted the interaction and sharing of experiences and ideas between Taiwan and international women entrepreneurs.
