919 Wines is running two drought relief fundraising activities to assist farming families in drought-stricken New South Wales.http://www.itb-asia.com/press/media-services/accreditation/ A six pack of wine from the winemaker’s own cellar is up for auction, including the 919 2010 Durif and 919 2012 Shiraz (both no longer available) and the 2006 Vintage fortified wine, which retails for $100 a bottle. Each bottle is personally signed by the winemaker himself.

919 Wines is also donating 20% of all on-line case sales to the relief effort. “At 919 Wines we are connected to the land, and our hearts go out to those who have been in drought for several years now, “ said Eric Semmler of 919 Wines. “We are hoping that people will dig deep and bid often. We have chosen to send the money to the CWA, as money is spent within the local communities and supports more than just a family.”

All the funds raised will be donated to the CWA NSW branch for direct distribution to struggling farming families for household bills. Farmers and their families put the welfare of their stock and the local wildlife ahead of their own well-being in many circumstances, and as their financial resources dwindle the communities around them suffer.
