Anna’s European journey commences in Budapest where she boards the Scenic Ruby and cruises through four countries from Hungary to the Netherlands crusing along the Danube, Rhine and Main rivers.

Along the way Anna visits the Central Market Hall in Budapest where she samples local salami, the traditional “langos”, goulash, and is in raptures over the varieties of paprika available. In Vienna, Anna learns the art of a true Viennese Strudel and of course, samples the city’s other favourite dish, the schnitzel, at one of Vienna’s most famous schnitzel restaurants.

Travelling along the Main River to Germany, Anna samples fresh sheep’s milk ice-cream, the traditional German sausage at the Hole in Wall Sausage Kiosk, and then onto the famous sausage kitchen in Regensburg, before a hands on gingerbread cooking class in Nuremberg complete with the all important taste testing.

Smoked beer, traditional German pastries and bratwursts, local wines, coffee in Rüdesheim complete with a shot of local brandy, a medieval banquet, rich homemade rye breads, pork knuckle, waffles with caramel sauce and Dutch herring – all topped off with a selection of up to four dining options every night on board Scenic Ruby.

Anna’s journey with Scenic ends in Amsterdam after 15 days of exploring the magnificent waterways of the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers, experiencing the charming old towns and restored castles that still stand watch from atop hillsides, and enjoying all the tastes and cultures of modern day Europe.
