A Destination in Its Own – The Newly Refurbished Emma Gorge Opens for Business

The iconic El Questro marks its 25th season this April after its annual five-month closure over the wet season. Eager visitors will be happy to hear that building crews have stood by their promise to get the resort open before Easter, and the Emma Gorge Resort will once again open its gate from April 13 after a fire burnt through the East Kimberly region late last year.

Hidden among the Kimberly’s fiery red Cockburn Range, Emma Gorge can be easily reached through sealed roads from Kununurra airport. Comprised of 60 safari-style tented cabins with ensuites, it is designed for anyone who is looking for an authentic taste of the beautiful Australian outback with the addition of a few home comforts. As part of the rebuild after the bush fire event of 2016, Emma Gorge received a total refresh, some of which include:

• 10 all new cabins • New furniture, linen and soft furnishing • Brand new hot water systems • New kitchen to expand on the already amazing food offering • A refurbishment of all bathrooms across all 60 safari-style tented cabins • A colour pallet that compliments the local eucalyptus

During their stay, visitors can immerse themselves among El Questro’s natural wonders. One of the highlight is its stunning waterfalls in the wild. Recognized by Escape as one of the best Aussie swim spots, the view surrounding the oasis is promised to be the best year on record following the wet season post bush fire. Reward yourself at the end of a hike across the rugged landscape with a lounge under Zebedee Springs – a bucket-list worthy thermal spring.

General Manager Lori Litwack said she is excited to showcase the update and newly built cabins to visitors and wants everyone to know that El Questro Emma Gorge is open for business.

“It has been a busy five months but we have rebuilt, refurbished and we are excited for people to experience the best affordable accommodation in the Kimberley region at Emma Gorge.” General Manager Lori Litwack said.
