A Detoxifying Harvest At Aro Ha

One of the integral aspects of Aro Ha Wellness Retreat’s program is food and nutrition. In combination with other elements of the program, Aro Ha’s unique cuisine provides guests with the opportunity to eat their way to better health.

A blend of vegetarian, vegan and raw cuisine, Aro Ha’s menus are a colourful and lively presentation with much of the produce having been procured from the facilities own permaculture based gardens. Citrus and nut orchards, vegetable patches bursting with kale, lettuce, heirloom varieties of squash and tomatoes, greenhouses full of tables brimming with micro-herbs and edible flowers are just some of the organic delights being grown and harvested at Aro Ha.

Dishes such as fresh spring rolls served with tamarind and spicy almond sauces and a ginger and beetroot sauerkraut are an example of how Aro Ha is utilising its bountiful produce.

The dietary detox goddess Suzie Bohannon designed the menus for Aro Ha with the seasonal on site produce in mind.  Author of No Sweeter than the Ripest Cherry, Suzie is well versed in supporting a wholesome detox experience that focuses on alkalinity, remineralisation and optimal elimination.

Guests at Aro Ha learn about the health benefits of this type of cuisine via workshops facilitated by the kitchen and garden teams, including the role of fermented foods and how to grow and use your own micro-herbs.
