Inspired by the magic of the festive season, Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore presents ‘Once Upon a Christmas’ a festive fairy tale extravaganza to celebrate the most joyous time of year. Discover traditional Christmas favourites at The Line, delight in charming handcrafted festive goodies at The Line Shop, indulge in three-tier afternoon tea at Lobby Court and high tea buffet at Rose Veranda, and savour tradition with a twist atShang Palace, Nadaman and The Waterfall.

THE LINE

Indulge in lavish Christmas feasts with traditional festive favourites and delightful gourmet presentations at The Line this joyous season. From 1 December 2015, well-loved presentations at The Line’s 16 signature live kitchens including freshly-shuckedOysters, Sushi and Sashimi and Asian and Western Roast Meats have been enhanced with festive highlights including Traditional Roast Turkey with Chestnut Stuffing; Pork and Duck Rillette; Cranberry Honey-glazed Bone-in Ham; and desserts such as Yule Log Cakes, English Drunken Fruit Cake, Italian Panettone,Christmas Pudding with Brandy Sauce and molten Chocolate Lava Cake withVanilla Sauce.

The festivities continue into the New Year with a decadent New Year’s Eve Champagne Dinner featuring Alaskan King Crab; Sri Lankan Crab; three types of Oysters from Ireland, Australia and France; Wagyu Beef Nigiri; Home-cured Earl-grey Salmon; Foie Gras; 48-Hour Slow Roasted Wagyu Beef Leg with a Mustard Crust;Beef Tomahawk; and Honey Mustard-glazed Pork Belly. Those with a sweet tooth will not be disappointed with Area Executive Pastry Chef Hervé Potus’ sugar wonderland featuring Tiramisu, Coconut Strawberry Panacotta; Red Velvet Crumble; Chocolate Banana Toffee Tart; Chocolate Fudge; and Chocolate Chewy Brownies.

A FAIRYTALE HIGH TEA AT ROSE VERANDA 

Rose Veranda tantalises the palette with a delightful festive high tea buffet presenting classic Christmas highlights Whole Roast Turkey; Prime Rib; Roasted Rack of Lamb;Alaskan King Crab; and desserts including an array of unique Log Cakes; Pecan Tart; and traditional Panettone. Priced at $52 per adult, The Festive High Tea Buffetat Rose Veranda is available from 1 December 2015 to 6 January 2016 and guests may choose from two timings, 11:30 am to 2:00pm or 3:00pm to 6:00pm.

On New Year’s Eve, the festivities continue into the New Year with a sumptuous supper buffet available from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. Priced at $138, highlights on the menu include Iranian Caviar on Toast with Quail Egg; Seafood on Ice; Sushi,Sashimi; Beef Wellington; Wild Strawberry Tartlet with Lime Basil Curd; Chocolate Strudel; and Orange Crème Brulee.

JOYOUS CELEBRATIONS AT LOBBY COURT

Lobby Court celebrates with a classic three tier afternoon tea bedecked with festive delights from 1 to 31 December 2015. Priced at $42 a person, guests may savour highlights such as freshly-baked Cranberry Scones with Chestnut and Clotted Cream; Pumpernickel and Salmon Nicoise, English Fruit Cake, Chestnut Mont Blanc and Frosted Berry Tartlets accompanied with a choice of coffee or tea. Festive three tier afternoon tea is available daily from 3:00pm to 5:30pm.

SEASONAL SIGNATURES AT NADAMAN

In a culinary tribute to Christmas and the New Year, Nadaman presents authentic kaiseki menus crafted from the finest seasonal ingredients. Available for dinner on 24 and 25 December 2015, guests may enjoy a six-course Christmas Kaiseki featuring highlights such as grilled Tuna Belly, Lightly-simmered Egg with Crab and Truffle Sauce, and Pan-fried  Wagyu Beef Sirloin. The six-course Christmas Kaiseki is priced at $188. 

Available for lunch and dinner on 1 and 2 January 2016, Nadaman rings in the New Year with a new Shin Shun (new spring) Kaiseki which offers seven courses of delicacies crafted from the freshest seasonal produce from Japan, priced at $250. Guests may also choose to enjoy a classic Japanese New Year with Nadaman’s Osechi menu – a traditional culinary experience comprising New Year favourites such as Grilled Miso Cod, Herring and Seaweed, Simmered Duck and Sweet Chestnutsserved in Jubako – traditional lacquer ware. The Osechi menu is priced at $150.

TRADITION WITH A TWIST AT SHANG PALACE

Shang Palace presents a unique twist on tradition with a six-course festive menu incorporating Christmas elements into classic Cantonese cuisine. Available on 24, 25 December 2015 and 1 January 2016, the menu is priced at $138 per person and dishes include Lobster Salad with Roast Suckling Pig, Double-boiled Bird’s Nest Soup with Abalone,Matsutake Mushrooms and Turkey; Pan-fried Wagyu Tenderloin; and Custard Puffs with Raspberry Sorbet. To celebrate New Year’s Eve, the menu is further enhanced with premium highlights including Braised Bird’s Nest with Crab Meat and Roe and Steamed Coral Trout. Available on 31 December 2015, the six-course New Year’s Eve Dinner menu is priced at $158.

SOUTHERN ITALIAN CELEBRATIONS AT THE WATERFALL

Conjuring visions of festive celebrations from the Southern Italian Coast, Chef De Cuisine of the Waterfall, Marco De Vincentis presents two exclusive dinner menus for the festive season. On Christmas Eve, enjoy a six-course medley of traditional Italian dishes including Goose Liver Stuffed Ravioli, Roasted Veal Tenderloin, andChocolate Cannoli with Clementine Mousse.

On New Year’s Eve, savour a seven-course menu of premium delicacies including Lemon-scented Sicilian Prawns; Lobster Risotto; Smoked-Wagyu Beef with Foie Gras Sauce; and Champagne and Cherry Mousse Panettone. The Christmas Eve menu is priced at $98 and the New Year’s Eve Menu is priced at $138.

Guests may also enjoy Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve Lunch Buffets or Christmas Day and New Year’s Day Brunch Buffets consisting of The Waterfall’s signature Southern Italian cuisine enhanced with seasonal festive favourites. The festive lunch buffets on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve are priced at $68, The Christmas Day Brunch Buffet is available at $88 and the New Year’s Day Brunch Buffet is priced at $78.

  A GINGERBREAD HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Savour a sweet family gathering at Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore with the annual Gingerbread House Decorating Workshop. Conducted by Area Executive Pastry Chef Hervé Potus, parents and children are invited to create gingerbread houses with frosting, cookies and candy, personalising their own confectionary masterpiece. Each child may also bring home their completed gingerbread house and a mini chef’s toque and apron as a festive memento. The Gingerbread House Decorating Workshop is priced at $98nett which includes a 90 minute session for one child (aged three to 12 years of age) accompanied by up to two adults.

The Gingerbread House Decorating Workshop will be held on 5, 6, 12, 13, 19 and 20 December 2015 and available in two sessions each day, 11:00am to 12:30pm or 3:00pm to 4:30pm.
