A Place Of Refuge For All

April 21, 2017 Resort News No Comments Email Email

AYANA, derived from Sanskrit is interpreted as ‘a place of refuge.’ This gentle name was chosen to represent the vision of a harmonious refuge, a place of equality, peace and balance. Following the nature of the name, AYANA has grown to become a brand with infinite depth and a true sanctuary for all.Spanning 90-hectares, AYANA Resort and Spa BALI and RIMBA Jimbaran BALI by AYANA is a paradise to many, but it’s not just guests who benefit from the loving nature of the resort. Woven into the tapestry of the forests, land and beaches are wildlife who thrive in AYANA’s welcoming habitat. There are many of Bali’s locally loved animals including monkeys, horses and dogs, as well as birds and sea life that reside around the resort. AYANA doesn’t just welcome these special species, but like their guests, treat them as part of the family.

The monkeys, also known as Macaques, have a 25,000-year history of co-habitation with people. These popular social creatures gather together twice a day at 9.00am and 3.00pm at their designated feeding spot fueled with cassava and local fruits. The feeding stations, located on a stretch of natural greenery between AYANA Lobby and Kubu Beach, ensures the resident primates are fed well and remain on a decent diet.

In addition to the monkeys, the resort’s friendly K9s are also treated with reverence. They are fed daily and given regular injections to maintain good health. Vet visits and active adoptions are also organized for the clever canines that for reasons of age or medical problemscan no longer work at the resort.

Horses too have their own special team of caregivers, while birds are given bread to snack on during breakfast times. Koi fish are fed regularly in the wealth of fish pools and ponds.

Nurturing animal life is one of AYANA’s contributions towards a happier and more significant experience for all. The AYANA philosophy is to genuinely care for and respect all whom grace the resort and this circle of belief does not exclude man nor beast. “It is just as important to nourish our wildlife as it is our guests”, explains General Manager, Clive Edwards. “We are steadfast in taking a genuinely caring approach to all that we do and by giving back to the land, as well as the creatures who inhabit our estate, we trust that this cycle of life will continue to radiate positivity, growth and general wellbeing for all. Essentially, happy land and animals can contribute to happy team members and ultimately, exceptionally happy guests.“

In addition to the much loved fauna, there is extensive and exuberant floral for guests staying at the resort to appreciate.  From wily evergreens and deciduous trees to gardens filled with colorful flowers and glistening fruits, guests can enjoy Flame, Ceiba or Cotton, Jambu Air and Kupu-kupu just to name but a few of the trees which can be located throughout the vast estate at AYANA and RIMBA.
