A Taste of Passion: Special Collaborative Menu between Thai and Singaporean Food Ambassadors

Singapore Tourism Board launched exciting food collaboration between Shakrit Yamnarm, a leading Thai celebrity who is passionate about food and Executive Chef Haikal Johari, who heads one-Michelin-starred restaurant, Alma by Juan Amador, for the first time in Singapore. The four course lunch menu from the special collaboration will be available at Alma by Juan Amador restaurant in Singapore from Monday to Friday, during 12pm – 2pm, at SGD 40++ (approx. 1150 baht) from January 29 – April 30, 2018.

Mr Shahkrit Yamnarm, actor and widely-acknowledged foodie said, “Not only Singapore offers a variety of food including Michelin Star restaurants, local dishes and many more, but it is one of the best destinations for foodies to deepen their passion in food. My passion for food had begun since I was a child. I started cooking when I was studying abroad. I constantly love trying new dishes in order to find inspirations and create my own recipes. I met Chef Haikal during my holiday in Singapore and discovered that he has the same passion to create fusion food. This is my first food collaboration project with Singaporean chef and I’m very excited to be able to deepen my foodie passion in Singapore. For those who see themselves as food lovers; do not just eat, be a Foodie and come to Singapore to revel in whole new flavours and try out this special menu.”

Mr Haikal Johari, Michelin-starred Chef from Singapore talked about the collaboration, “At Alma by Juan Amador, we always serve European cuisine with an Asian twist. That is why this is a great opportunity for me to work with Shahkrit in creating special menu with a Thai twist. As both of us like to combine flavors and techniques from different places to create our own unique dishes, I believe Foodies out there who love to try new things would absolutely love this special collaborative menu from Shahkrit and me.”

The collaborative menu details are as follows:

Menu Created by Shakrit Yamnarm

First course: Hokkaido Crab – Steamed Japanese snow crab with tomato black pepper jelly and topped with Thai red curry ice cream and crab biscuit

Second course: Patagonian Toothfish – The tasty Patagonian Toothfish serves with Laksa, daikon, scallops.

Third course: Suckling Pork Belly- This creative menu blends East and West taste together perfectly. The crispy sliced Australian pork belly is served with Mee Siam sweet and sour tangy broth.

Fourth course: Bubur Terigu – Indulge yourself with this unique taste dessert, which is made of buckwheat porridge, coconut, durian popcorn and Gula Melaka sauce made from palm sugar.
