Aardvark Safaris present spectacular viewing for the Magical Wildebeest Migration

May 28, 2014 Travel Deals No Comments Email Email

Aardvark Safaris present the perfect opportunity to see a spectacular array of animals during the great migration from wildebeest to zebra, to hippos and crocodiles, all in the lap of luxury.

Aardvark Safaris can arrange for Hong Kongers to have a front seat to one of the most dramatic wildlife events on the planet with two million strong herds gathering together to migrate between the southern parts of Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park and the Masai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya.

The months of January to March see the herds in the Southern Serengeti where visibility is superb and predator action is at its utmost. During this period, visitors can stay in beautiful luxury mobile tented camps, located in the Ndutu area with each tent having its own private verandah and the camp being surrounded by endless grasslands where lion and cheetah find their perfect hunting grounds.

From June to July, the herds make their way to an area known as the Western Corridor, tackling their first river crossing as they cross over the Grumeti River.  Sayari provides the most spectacular accommodation for this leg of the trip, consisting of 15 luxurious and spacious tents, all of which are raised on wooden platforms and equipped with contemporary and comfortable furniture as well as an en-suite bathroom. Each tent offers panoramic views over the Serengeti as well as vehicle based game drives for great wildebeest watching.

The most spectacular leg of the migration occurs from August to October during the crossing of the Mara River as safari-goers witness the mounting tension and excitement as the herds gather together before running the gauntlet of crocodiles lying in wait. The sheer density of wildlife in the Masai Mara is truly astonishing and is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The family-owned Rekero Camp is ideally located for overlooking the Talek River, allowing guests to witness the action from the comfort of their Camp. The knowledge of the local guides is such that guests rarely encounter other tourists during their stay. The camp is ideally located for viewing of big cats, large herds of buffalo and various antelope, hippo, giraffe, cheetah and leopard.

‘We can suggest a variety of camps, ranging from mobile tented operations which will move to follow the migration, to luxury lodges set in perfect positions for river crossings’, says Aardvark Safaris’ director Alice Gully.  ‘What we will ensure is that you witness this extraordinary spectacle in comfort, with expert guides and away from the busy tourist areas’. Aardvark Safaris can place Hong Kongers in areas to avoid the dense crowds due to Aardvark Safaris team of African experts knowing the exact criteria for tailor-made trips.

This wildebeest migration safari is based on a trip for 2 people, in only the most luxurious 5-star custom designed lodges, all for HK$80,000 for 12 days.
