egtmedia59Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie says billionaire Larry Ellison‘s first year as owner of Lanai has produced a “positive outcome” for the island.

Hawaii News Now reports Abercrombie told reporters Monday that Ellison, the CEO of Oracle Corp. (Nasdaq: ORCL) who bought Lanai nearly a year ago from Castle & Cooke CEO David Murdock, hired a team of people that “have exercised, I think, an enormous positive sense of collaboration and discussion and dialogue.”

Ellison has big plans for Lanai that include building a third luxury resort on the site of the old Club Lanai on the eastern side of the island, and 50 home sites nearby, as well as organic farming and a desalination plant to increase the amount of water on the island.
