egtmedia59Hawaiian Airlines will launch its nonstop flights to Taiwan early Tuesday, and Gov, Neil Abercrombie will be aboard when the inaugural flight departs Honolulu International Airport for Taipei.

Abercrombie is one of several VIPs who will board the flight, which is scheduled to depart Honolulu at 1:55 a.m. on Tuesday, Hawaiian Airlines, a subsidiary of Hawaiian Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: HA) said.

Hawaiian, which plans to operate the 294-seat Airbus A330-200 on the route, will be the only U.S. carrier to offer nonstop service between Hawaii and Taiwan.
