Accor Mega Famil Gets-Away to Adelaide

Accor has set out to uncover Australia’s next Catriona Rowntree with the launch of their Accor Getaways Mega Famil forwholesale consultants. 

Nicole Summerton fliming and Codey Dickson and Scott Ellem from Virgin Australia Holidays at Novotel Barossa Valley SAOver coming months the Accor Getaways Mega Famil will take participating teams of wholesale consultants to Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney, Queenstown, Auckland, Melbourne and Tropical North Queensland. As part of the mega famil participants are required to report their experiences in a mock travel segments recounting their experiences.

The TV segments are a great way for our Accor advocates to gather knowledge and recount their impressions of the hotel in an enjoyable environment. So far, the feedback we have received has been fantastic.”

First stop was Adelaide earlier this month where teams from Virgin Australia Holidays and Infinity Holidays jumped in front of the camera to recount their experiences at Mount Lofty House, The Sebel Playford Adelaide, Novotel Barossa Valley Resort, Mercure Grosvenor Adelaide hotel and Rockford Adelaide.

Entries will be judged by retail agents and the best segments will be presented with awards at a Gala function held at Pullman Brisbane King George Square on 8th August.

Awards will be presented for the following categories – most popular presenter, the most required improvement in a Getaways segment, the most creative Accor Getaways moment and the most outstanding Getaways segment.

The segments must feature the key or unique selling points of the Accor property they are visiting. Each famil will conclude with a dinner hosted by the regions tourism body who are co-sponsoring the famil.

The first three teams from Virgin Australia Holidays and Infinity Holidays completed the first leg of the famil to Adelaide last weekend. They were greeted at the airport by Accor representatives and transferred to Mt Lofty House in the comfort of a stretch hummer.

After a tour of the hotel and its grounds, the teams enjoyed a leisurely dinner back at their allocated hotels followed by some free time to explore Adelaide.

Following an award-winning breakfast at The Sebel Playford the teams were allocated a sponsored Europcar rental each and went on their way to the film the hotels outlined on their itineraries.

Next stop for the Accor Getaways Mega Famil will be Brisbane and the Gold Coast on 8 March where teams from will be required to film their segments.
