For the third consecutive year, The Playford Adelaide – a member of the MGallery Collection, has won Best Luxury Accommodation at the South Australian Tourism Awards, and has now been inducted into the Hall of Fame at the gala awards dinner held at the Adelaide Convention Centre, last week.

The iconic Mount Lofty House – a member of the MGallery Collection, was awarded the Business Event Venue category and the new ibis Adelaide won the New Tourism Business award.

The prestigious Awards, now in their 32nd year, celebrate and acknowledge tourism businesses in South Australia that have demonstrated outstanding achievement and success throughout the year. The South Australian Tourism Awards are presented by the South Australian Tourism Industry Council and proudly supported by the South Australian Tourism Commission.

The Playford Adelaide General Manager, Daniel Sparr, said “It is a great honour to be recognised and inducted into the Hall of Fame at this prestigious awards night. At The Playford, we consistently strive to stay at the top of our game and it is a humbling achievement to receive this acknowledgment from the industry.”

Mount Lofty House’s recently appointed General Manager, Tony Barradale, said “We are delighted to win the state’s Business Event Venue award. The team at Mount Lofty House work hard to find solutions for our customers, regardless of their budgets, and in our quest to be viewed as the compelling option, we’re always on the lookout for more innovative and enticing approaches that make every conference experience memorable.”

Ibis Adelaide General Manager, Nathan Frost, said “We are thrilled to win the state’s New Tourism Business category. The ibis Adelaide has filled a major void in the market for premium economy accommodation since opening. The new breed of millennial traveller is coming to the city for the experience and they want the convenience of location, quality and value.”

The award wins provide an opportunity for successful entrants to progress to the Australian Tourism Awards and compete on a national level. The 2015 Australian Tourism Awards Gala Night will be held in Melbourne on Friday 5th February 2016.

In addition, www.trivago.com.au, the world’s largest online hotel search site, recently ranked The Playford Adelaide as the #2 hotel in Adelaide and #4 in South Australia in Trivago’s 2015 Top Hotel awards, based on more than 200 million traveller ratings.
