I would also like to thank our judges for their time and hard work in reviewing the submissions.”

The Green Airports Recognition was established by ACI Asia-Pacific with the support of ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Environment Committee. The Recognition’s objective is to promote environmental best practices to minimize aviation’s impact on the environment and to recognize ACI Asia-Pacific airport members who have outstanding accomplishments in their environmental projects. Understanding that different airports have varying environmental priorities, a specific environmental aspect will be chosen as theme of recognition each year.  This theme for this year’s recognition is Green Airport Infrastructure.

The submissions were reviewed by the following judges:

  • Mr. Christopher Paling, Senior Lecturer – Senior Lecturer in Environmental Management, Manchester Metropolitan University
  • Mr. Christopher Surgenor, Editor/Publisher, GreenAir Online
  • Ms. Juliana Scavuzzi, Senior Manager, Environment, ACI World
  • Dr. Panagiotis Karamanos, Aviation Environmental Consultant
  • Mrs. Patti Chau, Regional Director, ACI Asia-Pacific

Dr. Panagiotis Karamanos, Aviation Environmental Consultant said, “Given the dire predictions about climate change, it is truly encouraging that many airports in Asia Pacific are undertaking innovative and effective initiatives.”

Recognized airports are invited to the award presentation ceremony to be held on 3 April 2019 at the ACI Asia-Pacific/World Annual General Assembly, Conference & Exhibition in Hong Kong. For more information about the event, please visit the event website at https://aci-waga2019.com/.
