ACI Asia-Pacific Announces Winner of the Young Executive of the Year Award 2014

ACI Asia-Pacific is pleased to announce that Mr. Kazunori Ishida from Narita International Airport Corporation is named the ACI Asia-Pacific Young Executive of the Year 2014.

Ms. Kerrie Mather, Chairperson of the Panel of Judges and Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Sydney Airport said, “The eleven high quality papers received this year demonstrated a good understanding of the issues and presented some very innovative solutions to current industry challenges.  The Panel of Judges was impressed by Mr. Kazunori Ishida’s submission on the topic – Airport Energy Efficiency and Management. The paper demonstrated a thorough research on the subject with a comprehensive analysis on the use and management of energy at Narita International Airport. It offers sound and practical energy saving solutions that can be applied by other airports in the industry.”

Mr. Ishida joined Narita International Airport Corporation in 2005, working in the Operations Planning Group of Safety and Technical Development Department where his main responsibility is to promote electrical safety and energy conservation.

Mrs. Patti Chau, Regional Director, ACI Asia-Pacific said, “The ACI Asia-Pacific Young Executive Award is about honoring and recognizing young executives in our region who contribute innovative solutions to our aviation industry challenges. Congratulations to Mr. Ishida, our winner this year, for his great ideas on how airports can enhance energy efficiency and management. All other entrants should be proud of their hard work.  My heartfelt gratitude also goes to our judges who took time out from their busy schedules and provided valuable insight and input to the program. Without their support the Young Executive Award will not be made possible.”

ACI Asia-Pacific Young Executive of the Year Award is a research paper competition program established to encourage and promote innovative ideas and solutions to challenges facing the aviation industry. The outstanding young airport executive who contributes the best research paper on a selected topic will be honored as the ACI Asia-Pacific Young Executive of the Year. Since its inception in 2009, the competition has been very successful and proven to be very popular amongst the young airport executives in the region. This year’s candidates were required to submit a research paper on one of the topics below:

  • ·         Branding Your Airport
  • ·         Talent Development and Succession Planning for Sustainable Airport Growth
  • ·         Airport Energy Efficiency and Management
