The Association of Corporate Travel Executives and the Lufthansa Group will conduct a webinar on August 21, 2015, to acquaint ACTE members — and others —with operational information regarding the carrier’s €16 Distribution Cost Charge policy, which goes into effect on September 1, 2015. “With only 20 days left to go before Lufthansa’s distribution cost charge policy becomes a reality, the industry still has a lot of unanswered operational questions,” said ACTE Executive Director Greeley Koch. “The purpose of this webinar is to answer those questions, to minimize confusion, and to help travel managers get through this change with a complete understanding of the process for their current management program. This webinar is especially important as several implementation changes have occurred since Lufthansa made the initial announcement in June.”
Lingering questions about Lufthansa’s €16 distribution cost charge policy include:
• How do I deal with this?
• Is the fee going to be part of the fare quote or a separate charge?
• How will travelers expense the fee?
“These are logistical issues that we are attempting to clarify,” said Koch. He emphasized that this webinar will not address the philosophical aspects of the Lufthansa program but the reality of what will happen on September 1, 2015. ACTE’s primary goal is to make sure its members and others have complete information regarding the operational aspect of this claim.
Greeley Koch personally conveyed ACTE members’ reaction to the distribution cost charge to Lufthansa’s senior management, at their Frankfort headquarters on July 1, 2015. This webinar grew out of that discussion. “Regardless of the philosophical aspects of Lufthansa’s new DCC policy,” said Koch, “I want ACTE members — and the whole industry — to be able to travel through the reality of this development or around it on September 1st. There will be plenty of time to discuss industry ramifications in the fall.”
The webinar is open to any interested business travel executive or member of the press — free of charge.
