Additional daily service announced for summer 2016

United Airlines will introduce a second daily nonstop service from its New York hub, Newark Liberty International Airport, to Brussels, Belgium. The new service will operate next summer beginning May 5 to Oct. 28, 2016 (both dates eastbound).

The additional New York/NewarkBrussels flight, UA44, will depart New York/Newark daily at 9:30 p.m., arriving atBrussels 11:30 a.m. the following day. The return flight, UA 45 will depart Brussels at 1:30 p.m., arriving at New York/Newark at 4:20 p.m. the same day. Flight times will be eight hours to Brussels and eight hours 50 minutes to New York/Newark (all times are local).

Flights departing between May 5 and May 24 and between Sept. 7 and Oct. 28, 2016, will take off on Boeing 757-200 aircraft with a total of 169 seats – 16 flat-bed seats in United BusinessFirst and 153 in United Economy, including 45 extra-leg room United Economy Plus seats. From May 25 to Sep. 6, 2016, flights will be on Boeing 767-300 aircraft with a total of 214 seats – 30 flat-bed seats in United BusinessFirst and 184 seats in United Economy, including 49 Economy Plus seats.

Like United’s existing service between New York/Newark and Brussels, the second daily service will be part of United’strans-Atlantic joint venture with Star Alliance partners Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa, Austrian, SWISS and Air Canada.

Increased Schedule Options

United’s current New York/NewarkBrussels flight, UA999, departs New York/Newark daily at 6:35 p.m., arriving inBrussels at 7:50 a.m. the following day. UA998, departs Brussels at 10:10 a.m., arriving at New York/Newark at 12:45 p.m. the same day.  UA999 and UA998 are operated by Boeing 777-200 aircraft with a total of 267 seats – 50 flat-bed seats in United BusinessFirst and 217 seats in United Economy, including 72 Economy Plus seats.

Onboard Products and Services

United BusinessFirst offers a superior business-class service. The BusinessFirst seat reclines 180 degrees into a flat-bed seat and features a personal on-demand entertainment system with a 15″ touch-screen monitor. BusinessFirst amenities include laptop power, USB ports, noise-reduction headsets, amenity kits featuring Cowshed-brand skin-care products, duvet-style blankets and a multi-course meal with complimentary wines.

United Economy offers complimentary multi-course meals, soft drinks, juices, beer and house wine, tea, coffee and entertainment. Seats feature an adjustable headrest and a 9″ seat-back monitor delivering a personal on-demand entertainment system.

United Economy Plus offers up to 5″ of extra legroom. Located near the front of the Economy cabin, the seats offer the added benefit of allowing a swifter exit from the aircraft.
