Addresstalk Announces Partnership With Foodpanda Singapore To Build On Success Of Condo Social Network’s Launch

AddressTalk (www.addresstalk.com), the first hyperlocal social networking site for condominium communities which launched last month in Singapore, today revealed a ‘perfect partnership’ had been forged with fellow vertical living start-up and home delivery giant foodpanda (www.foodpanda.com) Singapore.

AddressTalk CEO Graham Brain said he was delighted to form a partnership with foodpanda, a brand that had made ‘amazing strides’ since its launch in early 2012.

“It’s exciting to team up with a fellow start-up, more so one that has been so successful,” Mr Brain said. “The foodpanda story is amazing. Last year, they were a start up. This year, they have the most widespread geographical reach of any online food delivery business in the world, and are a fast emerging business leader in Singapore.

“Foodpanda’s clients are exactly our target market. Most of their clients are Singapore’s ‘vertical living’ communities, in the Orchard River Valley and East Coast Marine areas, as well as CBD condominiums, where AddressTalk has signed up residents in over 34 condominiums to date.”

Mr Brain said residents of condominiums who registered the AddressTalk account for their respective communities would receive foodpanda vouchers as a reward, redeemable at over 400 restaurants offering more than 10 food categories.

Foodpanda Singapore Managing Director Chinmay Malaviya said he was happy to partner with AddressTalk and said the relationship had great potential synergies beyond the agreed voucher deal.

Like dressTalk, foodpanda is a young, dynamic team of problem solvers, designers and thinkers, and has grown at an impressive clip. Less than 18 months after its launch, the company is fully operational in 31 countries, and currently employs more than 500 people worldwide. To date the foodpanda app has been downloaded more than 150,000 times in Singapore.

AddressTalk launched in Singapore last month with a mission to give condominium communities a united voice and to encourage open and transparent conversations between residents and owners of condo units and building management, while fostering a sense of community through hyperlocal community forums. So far there are over 50 Singapore condominium communities registered on AddressTalk.

Mr Brain said Singapore was chosen as the launch city after careful consideration. “We looked at the numbers. Singapore’s population is 5.3 million, with 7,315 people per sq km, making it one of the most densely populated urban centres in Asia,” he said.

AddressTalk and foodpanda offer innovative and dynamic digital solutions to vertical communities. 

“It has the most educated, affluent, connected, English-speaking and tech-savvy residents, plus approximately 80 percent of Singapore’s residents now live in condominiums or apartments so it really has become the home of vertical living.”

Other partnerships for AddressTalk include a voucher deal with Au Bon Pain in Thailand, where the start-up was developed and has signed up more than 131 condominium communities to date.
