When Soulpepper Theatre Company’sfounding Artistic Director Albert Schultz and Executive Director Leslie Lester joined adventure travel company Adventure Canada to circumnavigate Newfoundland in 2016, they immediately knew that they had to share Canada’s wilderness treasures with their audiences. Together with Adventure Canada, the Toronto-based theatre company is thrilled to offer its subscribers 5% savings on a dedicated itinerary to Greenland and Labrador in 2018, with $250 from each booking directly supporting Soulpepper programs.

“My trip to Newfoundland was a culturally rich, visually stunning, and perfectly organized journey. I am thrilled to begin a collaboration between Adventure Canada and Soulpepper, kicking off in September 2018 when I join the Greenland & Wild Labrador expedition,” says Schultz. During the voyage, Schultz will be engaging with guests on a daily basis, connecting with educators and students in Inuit communities, and offering a series of performative lectures on the history of western theatre.

The Greenland & Wild Labrador expedition aboard the 198-passenger Ocean Endeavour runs from September 18 to October 2, 2018 and showcases staggering geographic diversity. It encompasses over 2,200 nautical miles from the head of Sondre Stromfjord in Greenland, along Canada’s hidden Labrador coast, all the way to St. John’s, Newfoundland—stopping at four Canadian National Parks along the way including the stunning Torngat Mountains National Park and the newly created Akami-Uapishk-KakKasuak—Mealy Mountains National Park Reserve, Canada’s 46th National Park (and the largest in eastern Canada).

“We are proud to partner with Soulpepper, an organization whose views are so closely aligned with our own,” says Cedar Swan, Adventure Canada CEO. “We both actively believe in and support Canadian innovation, youth outreach, a love of the arts, and cultural engagement.”

Other trip highlights include searching for polar (and black) bears and marine mammals along the rugged Labrador coastline, experiencing the wonder of the Aurora Borealis, travelling to remote outport communities of Newfoundland, and following in the wake of the Vikings at L’Anse aux Meadows and the Wonderstrands.
