The Galapagos Safari Camp was founded by Stephanie Bonham-Carter and her husband Michael Mesdag, out of a decade-long love affair of the enchanted islands and their commitment to its conservation.  The camp is inspired by African-style safaris and features luxury tented accommodation, providing a unique way of exploring the archipelago in comfort.

Nestled in the wild highlands of Santa Cruz Island, the camp is in proximity to a tortoise reserve, and features panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. Local birdlife visit the camp freely with resident species including finches, warblers, Galapagos doves, and egrets.  Conservation efforts by the camp and its staff have helped to re-establish many native tree species including the Scalesia and Guayabillo.

As part of Adventure World’s continued commitment to seeking out like-minded companies that deliver extraordinary experiences to travellers, this partnership with Galapagos Safari Camp gives clients an authentic experience that brings them up close and personal with nature combined with discreet luxury.

Adventure World’s 5-day Galapagos Classic Safari Camp experience, priced at $5890 per person, provides excursions that are tailored to client’s needs. On day one, clients will enjoy a delicious, locally-sourced lunch at a farm in the western hills and will visit the Tortoise Reserve to learn about the giant tortoise’s natural habitat. On days two and three, the trip takes travellers to the neighbouring islands by boat to explore in detail the treasures that each island has to offer, with the option of snorkelling also available.

A morning drive to the Cerro Mesa Reserve is also part of the experience, which provides spectacular views of Santa Cruz Island and is a discovery of local plants and unique subspecies of finch and the elusive flycatcher. Guests will also explore Garrapatero Beach with the option of kayaking and mountain biking, and will culminate the adventure by enjoying sunrise from the camp’s observatory.

The Galapagos Classic Safari Camp is available to book through Adventure World and features in Adventure World’s South America programme.
