Award-winning tailor-made specialists, Adventure World Travel, is excited to share the news that Fernando de Noronha is the first destination in Brazil to approve the total ban of disposables. This ban extends to plastics, polystyrene and all products made of polyethylene, polypropylenes and the like.
The forward thinking, environmentally conscious island has prohibited the use and sale of disposable plastics since December 2018 and has allowed for a 120-day adaption period within which all disposable plastics are to be removed from the island.
Adventure World Travel and its suppliers are working with the local government, local businesses, tourism agencies and locals to aid with education and implementation of this new environmental initiative.

It is estimated that TTC’s sustainability efforts have the potential to help eliminate the use of tens of millions of plastic water bottles annually.
The ban in the thought-leading Brazilian destination, applies to both locals and tourists and in place of plastics will be the use of reusable bags, paper packaging and biodegradable materials. The administration of the archipelago insists the ban is necessary to protect marine biodiversity in a place that is considered an ecological sanctuary and classified as World Heritage by UNESCO.
