On The Go Tours, the award-winning tour operator specialising in locally-led group tours and tailor-made holidays to worldwide destinations, have added a new Active Range to their collection of tours.

For travellers seeking a dynamic, off-the-beaten track adventure, the Active Range offers a mix of trekking, walking and cycling holidays in some of On The Go Tours’ most popular destinations; Jordan, Morocco, Nepal, Croatia, Africa and Turkey.

Whether it’s trekking to the Lost City of Petra in Jordan or cycling through the surreal landscapes of Cappadocia in Turkey, travellers will have a more immersive experience in their chosen destination. As well as a physical challenge, travellers are exposed to plenty of cultural experiences, local eateries and even wildlife encounters.

The accommodation reflects the nature of these tours from sleeping under the stars, staying at local guest houses, or checking-in to simple hotels. A good level of fitness is required, along with an adventurous spirit.

There are 24 tours, visiting 13 countries in the Active Range, starting from 8-day trips to longer 18-day journeys.

Some highlights of the Active Range:

Morocco

From the summit of Mount Toubkal to the vast dunes of the Sahara, On The Go Tours offer four trekking holidays in Morocco. Escorted by a local guide and travelling in a small group, the tours are suitable for fit and active individuals, who are happy to camp out under the stars and trek for up to six hours a day. See the country’s changing landscape; from trekking through the remote Jebel Sahro region to a coastal walk along Morocco’s beautiful Atlantic Coast. The 8-day tours in Morocco start from $955 per person.

Croatia

Discover the treasures of Croatia with On The Go Tours’, Cycle Croatia. Travelling in a small group and lead by a local tour guide, travellers will revel in the rural and coastal landscapes of Croatia while on two wheels. Travelling from the north to the south of Croatia’s picturesque Istria Peninsula, the 8-day cycling holiday follows quiet country roads and discontinued railway tracks which pass through medieval settlements and rolling hills. There are opportunities to stop off at wine cellars, local eateries and coastal towns as the tour guide takes the group from Buje to Pula. Tours depart between May and October, from $1,915 per person.

Jordan

On The Go Tours’ 8-day tour through the diverse kingdom of Jordan is perfect for adventurous, trekking enthusiasts. Travellers will traverse over dry wadis, sandy desert and rocky terrain following the new ‘Jordan Trail’ from Dana Nature Reserve to the ancient ‘Rose-Red City’ of Petra, now one of the seven wonders of the world. Guests walk an average 5-6 hours a day across the spectacular, rugged landscapes of Jordan, camping Bedouin-style under the desert stars. Accompanied by a local guide and travelling in a small group, this tour departs between November to May, from $2,475 per person.

On The Go Tours’ Active Range are all lead by local guides and include accommodation and meals.
