Well known and successful travel industry identities have joined forces to create a new travel technology business, Aeronology. www.aeronology.travel

Aeronology is a new traveltech business specialising in travel transaction technology, focusing on ticketing, travel transactions via API’s or Web Services, GDS and NDC bookings, robotics, tour wholesale and payment connections.

Russell Carstensen, creator of the successful, multiple award-winning ticketing wholesale business Air Tickets in Australia and New Zealand, and QBT/APX Corporate Travel businesses will be CEO of the new company.

The Aeronology management team will be supported by Mr Peter Lacaze as Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Mr Lacaze has a long and successful international management career in several industries including over 20 years’ experience in Australian and international travel markets. This includes being the CEO of large private and public travel companies successfully leading these businesses through periods of growth, transformation, technology development, mergers, acquisitions and IPO’s.

Mr Lacaze is currently co-owner and chairman of a large Australian healthcare logistics company and will have a substantial shareholding in Aeronology and has the qualifications and experience to ensure that the company operates with appropriate corporate governance standards.

Russell Carstensen said, “My own personal career history is all about how to help travel businesses, whether in retail, corporate or wholesale, to have access to the best technology to be as profitable and efficient as possible.

“Our model is based on small transaction charges which can be easily passed on to the traveller, with all commissions going back to the owner of the contracts. It’s GDS and NDC neutral, all content is via APIs, our mid or back office connections are flexible, all you need is API connectivity.

The data flow can connect to accounting software like Xero, Quick Books or the standard travel industry accounting systems currently available in Australia and New Zealand and other international markets, especially Asia.” Mr Carstensen stated.
