On Friday 19th December 2014 guests depart Australia with Qantas Airways to Johannesburg and are then transferred to British Airways flight to Cape Town.  On arrival they will be met and transferred to Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel for two nights’ accommodation in a Deluxe room.

The following day,  guests have the opportunity to explore the beautiful city of Cape Town, visiting museums, lush parks, shops,  impressive mountains and outstanding wineries.  On Sunday via the Cape Town pier, they will embark on the Seven Seas Voyager for a 28-night cruise. 

On Monday 22nd December, Seven Seas Voyager docks in Mossel Bay;  the historical location where the first Europeans made landfall on South African Soil in 1488.  The following day, the ship calls at Port Elizabeth, located at the endpoint of South Africa’s picturesque Garden Route.

On Wednesday 24th December, the ship visits East London for Christmas Eve,  which is a great stepping off point for safari reserves featuring Big Five game animals.  Christmas is spent in beautiful Durban.  The city offers an incredible Old Market Square,  the Golden Mile beachfront and the scented Botanic Gardens.  The following day features Richards Bay,  one of South Africa’s largest harbours, the tourist’s gateway to Zululand, once the mightiest of the sub-Saharan African Kingdoms.  Explore the land of King Shaka,  or embark on an unforgettable safari to Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game unnamedReserve on one of Regent’s shore excursions.

Docking in at Maptuo on Saturday 27th December, guests can discover the wide European style boulevards, lush with jacaranda,  bougainvillea and other tropical foliage, where old colonial palaces are mixed in with modern high-rise buildings.

There is an opportunity to relax by the pool or enlighten your understanding on history, art or wine from the guest lecture on Sunday and Monday.

On Tuesday 30th December, guests can join in on the shore excursion in Nosy Be and discover the bright blue volcanic lakes,  or hire a boat to take you to Nosy Komba to visit the lemurs, found only in this part of the world.

New Years Eve Celebrations at sea include dazzling musical revues or Cirque-style productions at the Constellation Theatre, or there is a chance to simply relax in the Observation lounge.  The beginning of January brings an exciting new destination, Zanzibar which is referred to as the “Spice Islands”.  The major attraction is Stone Town, with its whitewashed,  coral-rag houses,  quaint shops, bazaars, mosques, courtyards and squares.  The pristine white-sand beaches offer just the spot for a quiet moment.

Seven Seas Voyager docks on Friday 2nd January 2015 in Mombasa, the second largest city in Kenya and offers exciting safaris to Tsavo, Maasai Mara and the Mwaluganje Elephant Sanctuary.  Guests may enjoy the next two days at sea, indulging in the onboard pleasures including the Canyon Ranch SpaClub.  

On Monday the 5th January,  the ship docks at Mahé and again on Thursday at Malé.  On Sunday 11th January, guests can explore the exotic city of Colombo and view the colourful colonial buildings including the Presidential Secretariat, the Grand Oriental Hotel,  and the Lighthouse Clock Tower.  A “must” to visit is Pettah, Colombo’s leading bazaar district.

On Wednesday 18th January,  guests arrive in Phuket,  known as the ‘pearl of Thailand’, with stunning beaches, lush vegetation and traditional villages.  The relaxed charm of Langkawi is seen on Thursday, before visiting Penang on Friday which is regarded as Malaysia’s food capital.  Saturday, offers an opportunity to spend the day discovering Kuala Lumpur’s cosmopolitan city and its many cultural levels, from the soaring Petronas Towers to a Royal Palace and Gothic churches.

As a finale to the trip, guests disembark Seven Seas Voyager and are transferred to the luxurious Mandarin Oriental Singapore Hotel for a night, before connecting with a direct flight back to Australia with Qantas on Thursday 20th January 2015.
