The Australian Federation of Travel Agents has launched an initiative which sees AFTA hit the road in support of the travel industry.
As part of AFTA’s commitment to supporting travel agents and ensure that Australian travel standards are elevated, AFTA will be visiting travel agents across Australia throughout June to assist agents with the completion of their ATAS accreditation application and promote the benefits of being ATAS accredited.
Sponsored by Avis, the road trip was launched last Friday at Anywhere Travel, in Kingsford NSW, a long standing member of AFTA and an existing accredited ATAS participant.
“As we embark on a road trip to assist travel agents with the ATAS accreditation process there is no better place to begin than with a long standing member like Anywhere Travel. We are keen to hear from members and seek their views on industry issues and at the same time discuss how to get the most out of their ATAS accreditation. ATAS is delivering on its promise as it continues to market and promote accredited agents to the Australian consumer,” said Gary O’Riordan AFTA General Manager.
“Anywhere Travel has been a valued member of AFTA since 1984. At the launch we celebrated their business being an ATAS accredited agent and how they exemplify what it means to be the best in the business – quality, reputable, trusted and trained travel professionals,” said O’Riordan.
“I am proud to be ATAS accredited and I fully support the new scheme that AFTA has implemented. My agency has been a long time member of AFTA and I was delighted to host the launch as AFTA goes on the road,” said Barbara Whitten, Owner Anywhere Travel.
“Avis is a longstanding Allied Member and we are very pleased to be supporting AFTA as they visit travel agents with the objective of elevating industry standards,” said Russell Butler, Avis Travel Industry Manager.
The road trip begins today, Monday 1 June, in Victoria.
