Dozens of members of Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) have turned out to the CLIA Australasia LIVE travel agent training series in Perth and the program is now set to attract about 600 participants in Australian east coast cities and in New Zealand.

The two-day session in Perth, which got underway yesterday, is one of six scheduled around Australia and New Zealand this year. It’s the first to be held in Western Australia.

CLIA LIVE offers a packed program involving representatives from the world’s biggest ocean, river and expedition cruise lines, who gather in the one forum to share their insight. The theme of CLIA LIVE content this year is matching clients to the cruise brand that suits them best.

With most events either sold out or with limited availability, the CLIA LIVE series is expected to involve more than 600 participants across Australia and New Zealand by the time it wraps up in September – well above the 370 hosted in the inaugural series last year.

“Our first CLIA LIVE events generated a fantastic response last year so we decided to expand the program in 2019 to include Perth and Adelaide,” CLIA Australasia managing director Joel Katz commented.

“The response has again been terrific and most events are now sold out.”

Limited places are still available for events in Adelaide next month and in Melbourne in September, with wait lists for all other cities.

CLIA LIVE events will be held this year in Perth on 12-13 March, Adelaide 2-3 April, Sydney 9-10 April, Auckland 7-8 May, Brisbane 22-23 May and Melbourne 18-19 September.

CLIA members will earn 30 accreditation points for attending and can take part in either one or both days depending on their availability.
