Agoda introduces an interest-free instalment payment option for Australian travellers, as it announces a partnership with Afterpay, an Australian financial technology company – which enable a digital service that allows consumers to buy now and pay later with zero interest.

Through this new payment option, financially conscious travellers can still benefit from Agoda’s best prices on its 2.5 million properties around the world. Customers who book accommodations through Agoda’s “Book now, pay now” options (excludes “Book now, pay later”, and “Book now, pay at the hotel”) can now select Afterpay at the check-out, which enable them to pay in four fortnightly interest-free instalments.

Aside from the obvious benefit to travellers, this enhanced payment option benefits accommodation providers, by giving them access to travellers who might previously have been unwilling to pay a lump sum upfront.

“We delighted that Agoda is the first online travel agent to partner with Afterpay, providing an alternative interest-free instalment payment option to Australians booking accommodation around the world. Afterpay is a very well-known instalment platform in Australia and is especially appealing to millennials,” explained Mr. Errol Cooke, Vice President of Partner Services, Agoda.

“We want to help everyone to travel and have worked passionately to ensure we get the very best prices on the Agoda platform. With Agoda now offering Afterpay, we can offer our great Book Now, Pay Now deals to travellers who want to spread the cost of their holidays, without it costing them more,” he added.

Agoda’s Afterpay payment option is currently only available in Australia.
