Air China celebrates 30 years in Australia with upcoming event in Martin Place, Sydney

Air China, China’s national carrier and the first Chinese airline to operate in Australia, is celebrating 30 years of Australian service with a special public event to mark the milestone in Martin Place, Sydney.

Kicking off from 12.00pm AEST on Thursday, 30 October 2014 at the Martin Place Amphitheatre, the Sydney city community can expect live entertainment with Chinese traditional music and dance acts by the Australia Oriental Sing and Dance Group, fun photos with Air China’s cartoon air crew figures, as well as a unique fine art demonstration featuring a large scale Oriental calligraphy “dance writing” performance by the Master, Mr. Franz Cheung.

Furthermore, “boarding passes” will be distributed to the public at the event to be in the running to win. Air China, in conjunction with event partners, Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts and the China National Tourist Office, will be giving away amazing prizes including:

First Prize

Two economy class tickets return (SYD or MEL to PEK)

Plus two nights at the 5-star Shangri-La China World Hotel, Beijing

Second Prize

Two nights at the 5-star Pudong Shangri-La, East Shanghai

Plus 50 consolation prizes.

General Manager for Air China Australia and New Zealand, Mr. Jie Rui said, “This celebration acknowledges Australia’s most valuable international inbound market, China. Air China is proud to be the preferred carrier of passengers travelling from Beijing to Australia. With the success of the route and ongoing confidence in our service, the demand continues to grow and today Air China operates three new routes: direct service between Sydney and Beijing five times a week; direct service between Sydney and Shanghai three times a week; and between Melbourne and Beijing via Shanghai four times a week.”

Air China is celebrating 30 years of service in Australia and the public is invited to join the festivities on Thursday, 30 October at the Martin Place Amphitheatre from 12.00pm to 2.00pm.
