For the Moon Festival in China, in partnership with China Eastern, the company had reserved a few surprises and special touches for its Chinese customers, on flights from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to its Chinese destinations.

Here are a few of the surprises Air France had in store:

  • special events at the boarding gate of flights AF3764, AF128 and AF112 to Beijing and Shanghai (special welcome, traditional dancing etc.);
  • a Moon cake, specially created for the company’s customers, handed out at the boarding gate and in the Air France Business lounges at Paris-Charles de Gaulle over a 3-day period;
  • a digital greetings card sent to all customers on flights to China between September 7 and 13;
  • a special “Happy Moon Festival” announcement in Mandarin, Cantonese, French and English, at the boarding gate and on board;
  • unlimited access to the Air France Play app offered to customers travelling to China;
  • special posters on board aircraft.

Celebrated on the evening of the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month, which is a full moon, the Moon Festival symbolizes family unity.

At the same time, Air France also celebrated Chuseok, one of the most important traditional festivals in Korea, which is an opportunity for Koreans to get together as a family over a three-day period and give thanks to their ancestors.

In Hall K at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Terminal 2E, Air France reserved special surprises for its customers travelling to Korea:

  • special events at the boarding gate of flights AF264 and AF262 to Seoul (special decorations in festival colours, posters and kakemonos);
  • a special welcome at boarding by the Air France multicultural team, dressed in traditional “Hanbok” outfits;
  • a “Happy Chuseok” announcement for all passengers in the lounges and at the boarding gate;
  • traditional “Yakgwa” cakes offered to each customer;
  • a “Happy Chuseok” announcement for all passengers on board, made by a Korean interpreter;
  • “Happy Chuseok” greetings cards handed out to passengers;
  • traditional candies offered to all passengers leaving the aircraft.
