Air New Zealand has today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Institute of Tourism Promotion (Inprotur) in Buenos Aires, Argentina to promote tourism and trade activities.

Following the arrival of Air New Zealand’s first direct service from Auckland to the Argentinean capital of Buenos Aires yesterday, the two parties have today formalised a partnership whereby they agree to work together on mutually beneficial business engagements.
Focus areas of the agreement include working together to stimulate demand for off peak travel from New Zealand and Australia to Argentina and showcasing both Buenos Aires and wider Argentina through Air New Zealand’s promotional channels.
The two organisations will promote inbound marketing campaigns to Argentina from New Zealand and Australia and provide support for international media programmes.
Air New Zealand Chief Strategy, Networks and Alliances Officer, Stephen Jones, says there is a lot of opportunity to bolster two-way visitor numbers between New Zealand and Argentina and this MoU is an important part of that.

Air New Zealand is now flying its refurbished Boeing 777-200 three times weekly between Auckland and Buenos Aires. Aerolíneas Argentinas is code sharing on the route, as well as on Air New Zealand’s trans-Tasman services to Sydney and Melbourne.
