Air tour base makes Rawnsley Park easier to access

egtmedia59Outback air safari specialists Chinta Air Tours has set up base at Rawnsley Park Station in the Flinders Ranges.

The South Australian company will operate private charter flights in and out of the station year-round, as well as all-inclusive tours to the Gawler Ranges, Eyre Peninsula and Kangaroo Island.  Chinta will also operate Rawnsley’s daily scenic flights.unnamed (14)

On a recent visit to Sydney, owner of Rawnsley Park Station, Tony Smith, said he was delighted to welcome Chinta Air Tours to Rawnsley Park Station.

“Having Chinta onboard will not only make Rawnsley Park Station more accessible for many visitors it will broaden the range of experiences we have on offer,” Smith said.

“It’s particularly good news for our international visitors, who now have the option of flying into Rawnsley Park Station direct from Adelaide and incorporating a visit to the Flinders with other iconic South Australian destinations, like Kangaroo Island.

“Chinta are also able to develop itineraries that continue north from the Flinders Ranges to Coober Pedy and Uluru, creating the ultimate Outback escape for visitors.”

Tours currently on offer include a four-day Flinders Ranges and Gawler Ranges Safari, which includes seats on a scheduled flight from Adelaide to Port Lincoln, a three-day private 4WD tour of the Gawler Ranges and Eyre Peninsula, ending with a one-night stay in an eco-villa at Rawnsley Park unnamed (15)Station and returning to Adelaide by private charter flight.  Cost is from AUD 4880 per person for four people.

Also available is a five-day Flinders Ranges and Kangaroo Island Safari, which includes a private charter flight to Rawnsley Park Station, two nights in an eco-villa, a Sunset on the Chace 4WD tour, full-day 4WD tour to the Flinders Ranges National Park, followed by a private charter flight direct from Rawnsley to Kangaroo Island.  Here, guests enjoy two days of 4WD touring on Kangaroo Island and two night’s accommodation in a luxury bed and breakfast, returning to Adelaide on a scheduled flight to Adelaide.  From AUD 5595 per person for four people.

Both tours include all meals and airport transfers, with departures available year-round on demand.

Rawnsley Park Station is located in the Flinders Ranges region of South Australia, 30 kilometres north of Hawker and approximately 4.5-hours drive north of Adelaide.

Rawnsley’s flagship properties are its luxury eco-villas, constructed in 2006 and 2009.  These eight, one and two-bedroom eco-villas are designed to complement the natural environment and are set on a secluded, elevated site with stunning views of the surrounding ranges .

This year, Rawnsley Park Station is expanding its multi-day guided walks of the Flinders Ranges, with strong focus on the iconic Heysen Trail which runs 1200 kilometres from Parachilna Gorge in the Flinders Ranges to Cape Jervis at the tip of the Fleurieu Peninsula.
