AirAsia awarded for exceptional On-Time Performance standards FlightStats listed Thai AirAsia as the winner and AirAsia Malaysia as finalist for On-Time Performance Service Awards

AirAsia Group’s airline affiliates, Thai AirAsia (airline code: FD), and AirAsia Malaysia (airline code: AK) were announced as award finalists for the FlightStats 5th Annual Airline On-Time Performance Service Awards, in the ‘Low Cost Airline’ category.
Both airlines were listed as finalists against other global low cost airlines such as Jetstar Airways, Southwest Airlines, JetBlue Airways and Virgin America.

Based on the on-time performance data of scheduled flights operated, which was gathered and deliberated by FlightStats, Thai AirAsia was ultimately named the victor of the category for achieving the highest on-time performance (OTP) in 2013.250x250

“On-time performance is the key to our success. By keeping our operations efficient and maintaining the 25-minute turnaround time discipline, we are able to enhance overall operations and present our guests with great reasons to fly with us. It is also a way to keep our costs low, which translates to low fares for our guests. We will continue to strive to achieve the greater on-time performance in the future for the group and garner enhanced efficiency of our overall operations,” Tony added.

For 2013, AirAsia Malaysia achieved an overall OTP of 78%, while its counterpart Thai AirAsia managed to attain a proud 92% OTP. As a group, the OTP achieved for last year was 79%. These figures are based on AirAsia’s airline operations management system and not derived from FlightStats’ database.
