AirAsia boosting ASEAN connectivity with direct flights from Kuala Lumpur to Nay Pyi Taw

AirAsia, the truly Asean airline is introducing direct flights from Kuala Lumpur (KUL) to Nay Pyi Taw (NYT) in Myanmar with daily flights beginning 10th November 2014. Guests can book this route with all-in-fares from as low as RM169 one way beginning today.

This route marks AirAsia’s second destination in Myanmar connected directly from AirAsia’s biggest hub, Kuala Lumpur; after Yangon and AirAsia is the only airline that operates this direct route from Kuala Lumpur.

The word Nay Pyi Taw directly translates to ‘Royal Capital’ and function as the administrative capital city of Myanmar since 2005. It is home to all of Myanmar’s government ministries and offices. Located approximately 320 km north of Yangon, the city is home to various tourist attractions such as Uppatasanti Pagoda, Myoma Market, National Herbal Park and the largest Zoo in Myanmar – Nay Pyi Taw Zoological Gardens & Safari Park.

This year, Myanmar takes the rotating chair of ASEAN and the city of Nay Pyi Taw will be hosting the upcoming 25th ASEAN Summit on the 12 & 13 November 2014 which will be attended by leaders from the ten member states of ASEAN.
