AirService, Village Roadshow roll out world-first online food ordering app at iconic Aussie theme parks
Australian start-up and mobile commerce technology company, AirService, has partnered with Village Roadshow Theme Parks (VRTP) to provide its mobile ordering and virtual queuing solution across the group’s iconic theme parks.
The service is a world first. The closest comparison is a pilot from Disney World in Orlando US, which last year tested an app that enabled in-venue ordering and food delivery during a night-time show.
Gotham City restaurant at Warner Bros. Movie World is the first of many venues at VRTP to use the new Village-branded, AirService-powered eServe app.
The next step is adding another restaurant to the app at Movie World, before expanding to service the Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast.
This Saturday’s re-opening of Wet’n’Wild Sydney will also feature the eServe app at the theme park’s Premium Lounge, where it will be used as an ordering and delivery service for customers.
The service will allow guests to order and pay for food, which will then be delivered directly to their private cabana.
The app allows a seamless ordering, payment and take-away experience for guests wanting to make the most of their experience at the theme park.
The eServe app provides venues with a faster more convenient way to connect to guests and offer them a truly premium service.
“Imagine you’re a family out at the theme park. Instead of standing in a queue with your young children and missing out on all the fun of Movie World, you just make an order and continue to enjoy the rides and entertainment until your food is ready to pick up,” AirService co-founder and CEO Dominic Bressan said.
The eServe app gives VRTP a new way to connect with its theme park guests, providing them with top customer service that adds to their overall experience.
“In addition to taking the logical step of making the ordering process easier for our customers, we also want to make their visit to our parks as exciting and memorable an experience as possible,” Village Roadshow Theme Parks spokesperson, Selena Magill said.
“The introduction of eServe has been a huge success so far at Movie World and we’re anticipating a similar response when it’s expanded to Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast and Sydney. It’s great to be able to work with AirService to implement the latest technology and really give our customers an A-grade dining experience,” she said.
