A&K Helps The Fight Against Food Insecurity

July 28, 2015 Responsible Tourism No Comments Print Print Email Email

A team of volunteers from Abercrombie & Kent this week rolled up their sleeves to help the folk at Melbourne food charity Fareshare.

Cooking meals for distribution to those in need around Melbourne, Fareshare was established in 2001 and from its kitchen in Abbotsford produces 25,000 meals a week from surplus food rescued from supermarkets, farmers and other businesses.

It is a startling fact that one in ten households faces food insecurity, not knowing where their next meal is coming from, and Fareshare is making a real difference.
