Luxury travel company Abercrombie & Kent has released its new collection of journeys through Africa, Arabia and Persia.
Twenty-one countries are covered with a range of travel styles and focuses. The Africa offering concentrates largely on the many wildlife experiences available with a range of safaris to suit different requirements. Across Arabia the experiences also vary enormously with cultural touring, Nile cruising, beach stays and desert camping just some of the options available. In Persia, outstanding cultural touring is on offer to the destination’s most impressive ancient sites.
On the new collection, A&K’s Managing Director Sujata Raman said, “In putting together this portfolio we’ve identified some current travel trends and tailored our journeys accordingly. Activity is important to today’s traveller so while a traditional safari is conducted from four wheel drive vehicles, we’ll also offer guests the opportunity to track wildlife on foot, be part of an exhilarating riding safari, explore by canoe or even quad bike.
“Family trips are also in vogue so a safari in a malaria-free game reserve is one of our recommendations. Travelling to new destinations is another focus so we’ve introduced an outstanding private journey through Iran. Finally, we’ve noticed a philanthropic urge amongst our guests to see local benefits from tourism in the regions visited and participation in community based tourism. So in Tanzania, we encourage our guests to visit the A&K Philanthropy supported school and beekeeping project.”
A&K’s new private journey takes travellers to this most cultured nation where the people are warm and welcoming and the monuments dazzling. Through 5,000 years of history, ancient civilisations have left their mark with ruined cities like Persepolis and Pasargadae which are included, as well as the beautiful city of Isfahan, the gardens and bazaars of Shiraz and the oasis town of Yazd.
A&K’s 11-day ‘Ancient Wonders of Persia’ journey is priced from $9,830 per person.
