Luxury travel company Abercrombie & Kent has released its new collection of journeys through the Indian subcontinent and Asia. Fifteen countries are covered with a range of travel styles and focuses.
On the new collection, A&K’s Managing Director Sujata Raman said, “In putting together this portfolio we’ve identified some current travel trends and tailored our journeys accordingly. With cruising ever popular, we’ve included our luxury Yangzi offering on board Sanctuary Yangzi Explorer through the stunning Three Gorges, a charming house boat experience on the Kerala backwaters in southern India, Myanmar’s extraordinary Ayeyarwady on board Sanctuary Ananda as well as the sophisticated Aqua Mekong in Cambodia and Vietnam.
Family trips are also in vogue so there’s a delightful 12 day journey in Vietnam from north to south to suit the multi-generational traveller with cyclo rides, cooking classes, market visits, lantern making and more. Some new regional destinations also feature including Ladakh with a hosted small group journey, Uzbekistan, China’s Silk Road and the Maldives.
This new private journey takes travellers to the home of Central Asia’s most impressive architecture, with its abundant ancient ruins and relics. A proliferation of mosques, minarets and mausoleums are found throughout the country and the cities are steeped in the legend of the ancient Silk Road. For travellers seeking to tack on something new to a journey through Rajasthan, Amritsar in India’s northern Punjab state is ideal. The city has been capital of the Sikh religion since the 16th century and its most famous monument is the dazzling Golden Temple, whose dome is covered with 100 kg of gold. The three day short stay includes an extensive visit to the temple, the Sikh communal kitchen and the ‘going to bed’ ceremony of the holy book.

Sri Lanka by Air
