A&K Returns to Egypt

Luxury tour operator Abercrombie & Kent’s Australian Managing Director Sujata Raman expresses renewed optimism that tourism to Egypt is turning around for the first time in three years.

“Since elections in May, our staff on the ground in Egypt have reported a sense of calm and real hope for the future”, says Raman. “Just last week a group of 65 American guests travelled to Egypt on an Abercrombie & Kent President’s Journey and heard first hand from a political science and sociology lecturer at the American University of Cairo of the confidence which Egyptians have in their new leadership.

“Tourism to Egypt has suffered dramatically since the Arab Spring three years ago. Rebuilding will take time but we have a full and robust financial commitment in the country with on-ground offices, a strong local team and a fleet of three of the finest cruise vessels on the Nile. Our security procedures and protocols are second to none and visitors who travel now will see Egypt as never before. The crowds are few, the attractions deserted and locals more welcoming than ever.”

To kick start its return to Egypt, A&K has launched a special offer on its 8-day ‘Glimpse of Egypt’ private journey. Attractions include the highlights of Cairo with a private Egyptologist staying at the deluxe Kempinski Nile Hotel, plus a four-night Nile cruise on the luxurious Sanctuary Sun Boat IV, taking in the ancient temples, tombs and riverside life between Luxor and Aswan.
