Once seen as a cruising destination for more senior travellers, the brand new Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Cruise Line’s sixteenth ship designed for the ultimate cruising experience, is re-imagining the conventional Alaskan cruise to cater to all ages and make multi-generational voyages an appealing option for families keen to enjoy an exciting once-in-a-lifetime holiday together.

“Accommodating up to 4,000 guests, Norwegian Bliss will be our brand’s most incredible vessel to date, custom built for Alaska and elevating the on board experience to new heights by taking the best-loved elements from across our fleet, and adds new first-at-sea features  like the  largest competitive race track at sea and an open-air laser tag course aboard a North American-based cruise ship,” said Steve Odell, Senior Vice President and Managing Director Asia Pacific for Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings.

“Contrary to the misconception that Alaskan cruising is for retirees, Norwegian Bliss will create a raft of unique experiences for cruisers of all ages – young and old. Now everyone – from families to singles to couples – will be treated to the best of Alaskan cruising aboard one of the most thrilling ships in the world,” he added.

Multi-generational cruising – activities for all ages…

Norwegian Bliss will be added to the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet specifically with Alaska in mind, allowing guests to savour a raft of innovative on board offerings for cruisers of all ages. Everyone in the family – from grandma and grandpa, to mum and dad, to the grandkids, as well as singles and couples – can take in spectacular shore excursions like glacier trekking, whale watching and dog sledding before returning to the array of cleverly designed new spaces on board.

For the youngsters, the Kids’ Aqua Park – offering two multi-storey slides – provides a watery wonderland of tipping buckets, slides and water cannons. The complimentary youth programme, Splash Academy, has a jam-packed supervised activity schedule for kids aged three to 12. Teens can chill in their own dedicated space – Entourage – filled with plush lounging furniture, gaming stations, foosball and air hockey, with the space morphing into a neon-lit nightclub after dark.

For the big kids and kids at heart, the two level electric-car race track – at 305 metres – will be the longest at sea with a special turbo boost available where silent electric cars hit speeds of up to 48 kilometres per hour. Also on the top deck is an open-air laser tag course with an abandoned space station theme, open day and night. After exploring several age-appropriate activities on board, guests can cool off at theexpansive sundeck and pool area with two sprawling pools and six infinity hot tubs.
