All The Right Flavors & None Of The Labor At The Grill Room’s Thanksgiving Feast

Dreading that tedious Thanksgiving meal followed by an all-night clean-up? Don’t fret as The Grill Room at Capella Washington D.C. provides an inviting and comfortable dining space in the heart of historical and cozy Georgetown.

Classic and hearty holiday favorites will be served from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm for brunch on November 27th followed by dinner service from 5:30 pm until Midnight (or until you slip into a deep post-dinner sleep). The brunch and dinner are both priced at $95 per person plus taxes and gratuities.

Start Thanksgiving off on the right foot with an epic brunch beginning with an amuse bouche of “Smoked salmon with maple crème fraîche, blis maple cured salmon roe and crispy sage in an egg shell.” Then let the fun begin with passed small plates of “Ham and Cheese Blintz,” “Spiced Waffles with Cranberry Compote” complemented with a bread basket of homemade straight from the oven “Parker House Rolls and Corn Bread.” For starters, select from a “Roasted Parsnip Soup with Duck Ham and Parsley Oil,” “Heirloom Apple and Pear Salad (served with Rouge River blue cheese, radicchio and candied walnuts), “Cornbread Stuffed Quail with prune butter, braised mustard greens and quail jus” or a “Maine lobster panzanella topped off with kabocha squash, orange, arugula, country bread and a molasses-ginger vinaigrette.”

For the main course, selections include a “Roasted Heritage Turkey, with sides of chestnut stuffing, apple-rye chutney and traditional gravy,” “Porchetta with roasted fennel and dill,” “Cedar Plank baked salmon with celeriac remoulade,” and “Carnaroli Risotto with roasted pumpkin, golden raisin and diver scallops.”

Guests will also be happy to know that there will be a dessert trolley offering a selection of house made pies and cobblers and the restaurant’s popular “Peach Baked Alaska” and “Vanilla ice cream and Almond Sponge Cake.” Additional side dishes that guests can order include “Roasted sweet potato with pearl onion and spicy pecan,” “Crispy Brussels sprouts with Asian pear, barrel aged soy and wildflower honey” and “Apple wood smoked mashed potato chive.”

A feast for the senses is what the Thanksgiving dinner at The Grill Room is all about. The dinner feast starts off with an amuse bouche of “Parsnip Soup with duck ham, apple and parsnip chips.” Then it continues with passed items of “Salmon Rillettes Crostini and chive,” “Beef Bourguignon with potato espuma,” and a bread basket of freshly baked “Parker House Rolls and Cornbread.” Featured starters will include “Heirloom Apple and Pear Salad with Rouge River blue cheese, radicchio and candied walnuts,” “Cornbread Stuffed Quail with prune butter, braised mustard greens and quail jus,” and a “Beef Carpaccio served with pickled pear onion, dijonaise, caper and country bread.”

For the entrees, choose from a “Roasted Heritage Turkey with chestnut stuffing, apple-rye chutney and traditional gravy,” “Porchetta with roasted fennel and dill,” “Cedar Plank baked salmon with celeriac remoulade,” and “Carnaroli Risotto with roasted pumpkin, golden raisin, and diver scallops.”

The dessert trolley will also make another appearance and house made pies and cobblers plus a “Baked Alaska” served at the table will be among the sweet treats that guests will enjoy. Side accompaniments include a selection of “Roasted Sweet Potato with pearl onion and spicy pecan,” Crispy Brussels Sprouts with Asian Pear, barrel aged soy and wildflower honey,” and “Apple wood smoked mashed potato with chive.”
