egtmedia59Low-cost airline Allegiant Air said Tuesday that it will launch nonstop flights between Los Angeles International Airport and Honolulu International Airport on Oct. 30.

The Los Angeles-Honolulu flights will operate twice weekly. Gina Marie Lindsey, executive director of Los Angeles World Airports said they will give Los Angeles residents “more low-cost choices to Honolulu.”

“We are confident Los Angeles travelers will appreciate the value of booking their Hawaiian vacation package with Allegiant, and the new service will attract Hawaiian visitors with the low-cost Los Angeles vacations Allegiant is known for,” Allegiant Travel Co. President Andrew C. Levy said in a statement.

Las Vegas-based Allegiant (Nasdaq: ALGT) entered the Hawaii market in June 2012 with flights between Honolulu and Las Vegas and Fresno, Calif., and quickly added seven other West Coast cities. The company recently said it would suspend flights from the seven other cities starting next month, saying they were seasonal flights.
